VF Now Taking Applications for 2018 Summer Internship Program
More than 20 college students will spend the summer in Greensboro, North Carolina, learning the ins-and-outs of the apparel and footwear industries as part of a 10-week-long internship with VF Corporation.
The program, which runs from June 4 to Aug. 17, is open to rising juniors and seniors along with students graduating in June 2018 and MBA candidates. Internships span a number of functions across VF and the Wrangler® and Lee® brands, including information technology, communications, finance and human resources.
As a part of the experience, VF will offer structured professional development opportunities that tackle pertinent topics, including digital and interoffice communications.
“Our goal is to offer students valuable real-world experience in their fields of interest and to also expose them to the inner workings of a global apparel and footwear company,” said Lisa Glebus, Director, Talent Acquisition, for VF.
In addition to their work assignments, interns will also participate in a real-life business case project. Last year, the team researched and analyzed the capabilities of two mobile app vendors and presented a vendor recommendation to VF leaders.
A similar project is planned for this year.
Some interns will be offered full-time roles at the conclusion of the program.
Jinzhao Lu, Senior Analyst, Consumer & Shopper Insights, an intern in last summer’s program, was hired into a full-time role. During his internship, he analyzed, identified and translated consumer and shopper insights into growth principles for VF brands.
“VF is a great employer with good work and life balance,” Jinzhao said. “I was trained and given important projects as an intern, which offered me opportunities to demonstrate my skills and potential.”
Applications are due by Feb. 9. Candidates can view positions and apply at www.vfc.com/careers.
