VF brands and their products touch millions of lives every year – from people that design and make apparel and footwear to the consumers who purchase and use them. As with everything we do at VF, we work to continuously improve and innovate our approach to chemistry, circularity and traceability.
Our products must be functional, attractive and, above all else, safe for all who use them. Within the complexity of our supply chain, this means protecting employees, factory workers and consumers, as well as the environment. Our Product Stewardship program and team oversee the intricacies of our supply chain and uphold product compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards. The team also oversees product safety training for our Design, Development and Sourcing teammates and our Tier 1 and nominated Tier 2 factories. The team upholds product compliance with VF standards and verifies effectiveness through factory evaluations and material and product testing.
“Sourcing products ethically is of paramount importance to VF and our consumers. We protect all workers in the supply chain, strive to source only sustainable raw materials, and use our scale for good for all actors across our supply chain.”
– Stewart Kwok
Senior Manager, Traceability
We strive to create products that use resources conscientiously and can be used for an extended period and then reintroduced in some form to the supply chain at the end of their originally intended life.

Learn MoreTo achieve our environmental sustainability goals and our vision of responsible production, we must know where our materials originate and how they are processed at every step of our complex supply chain.
Learn MoreVF published traceability maps for 100 iconic VF products. Producing these maps enabled VF to create the infrastructure to elevate our knowledge of our full supply chain, all the way upstream to Tier 5. While we no longer publish current maps, an archive of our historical mapping remains available.
