Traceability

Creating our products in an ethical and sustainable manner is integral to our business strategy. Through a comprehensive process that traces key individual raw materials to the final product, we aim to build a purpose-led supply chain that improves the livelihood of two million people in the communities in which our workers live by FY31, while also giving our consumers confidence in the origins of our products.

Goals

01

Achieved - Publish traceability maps for 100 of our brands’ most iconic products by December, 2021

02

Trace five of VF’s key materials through all of our supply chains by FY28

We can’t fix what we don’t know

Traceability gives us visibility into every aspect of our supply chain, identifying areas that need to be addressed and improved. It’s no easy process, given that our global supply chain spans across approximately 40 countries and includes thousands of suppliers, but we continually strive to achieve full traceability from raw material to retail.

Given the complexity of our supply chain, we rely on our traceability system to maintain compliance with our Responsible Materials and Sourcing Policies, trade regulations and other applicable laws. This system also helps us monitor for critical risks, such as human rights concerns, water scarcity, deforestation concerns and pollution throughout our end-to-end supply chain. Our monitoring utilizes commodity volume data, country-level risk maps, supplier traceability diligence and environmental and social risk data to identify any areas of concern that can spur specific action items.
